Welcome To Our Special Memories Page
We hope you will find our memories page a helpful way to share your memories of your much loved pet.
Losing a beloved pet is heartbreaking. They leave an absence in our lives that is devastating and this, of course, takes time to heal.
We know that our clients find it helpful to share memories of their pet and so we have dedicated this area of our website to create a ‘Memory Book’ where you can share your thoughts, your treasured memories or just a picture of your special pets.

Rufus
In memory of our little man rufus. We had an amazing 8 years with him. He will never be forgotten and his quirky ways. He will be very missed and always be loved, even with his loud snoring. Unfortunately we had to make the decision to say goodbye to him. We would like to say a massive thank you to the vets for their sympathy and kind words on that dreadful day, especially to Sarah who was very supportive and understanding.

Felix
Will have happy Memories of our Loving Felix..
Many thanks for the care given by Hermione and Co at Street Vets..
He loved to watch the Washing Machine in motion in his early days.

Dottie
Dottie, my friend and companion.
The cat who came in from the rain and stayed for 10 years through good times and bad.
She was the gentlest of cats and loved by all her friends. We miss you Dottie.

Sam
his is our Sam. Always by our side looking like butter wouldn’t melt in his mouth….. you just try tickling his tummy!!!
Miss you loads and remember you fondly. Xx

Kilo
We have nearly 10 years of lovely memories of you as part of our family. You were a big dog with an equally big heart and sweet character. We miss the sound of your tail tapping on the sofa (which you commandeered! ) welcoming us in the morning, your companionship, cuddles and your love. We all miss you dearly and always will.
We hope you find another nice sunny spot to sunbathe wherever you are and please don’t chase the squirrels!
Many thanks to all the very kind staff at Street and Langport Vets who cared for you, especially Rachel and Hermione and the lovely Lesley on reception.

Charlie
I would just like to thank Julian and the team at Street Vets for taking care of Charlie over the last year or so. He had so many problems but he kept bouncing back!! But more recently his body just couldn’t take anymore, so I had to make that terrible decision to put him to sleep. He has now gone over the rainbow bridge and no longer in pain. He was such a character and I will miss him greatly. My best friend and companion with total unconditional love that will always be with me.
A special thank you for Ali (veterinary nurse) who became very much part of Charlie’s life and with him at the end Rest in peace my Charlie. Always in my heart

Jake
Our beautiful boy Jake .. what a massive hole you have left in our
lives, loved by everyone, You were a right little character. Miss you
forever little man ,love you xx

Charlie
Charlie was my best friend, we proved inseperable from the day I bought him home.
No angel mind, we made repeated visits to Langport vets due to his sock habit, a grape incident and some chocs, luckily each time the vets have worked their magic.
At the ripe age of 14, we have had to say goodbye to our boy, but we are thankful for the week over Christmas that we managed before having to kiss him goodnight.
We cannot thank Langport vets enough, and although we will miss our boy immensely, we know he is now at peace. For the loyal companionship he provided us over the years we are eternally grateful, sleep tight Charlie x

Ozzy
Ozzy, our big teddy bear , my bestie, my soul mate. You gave us twelve and a half years of unforgettable, funny and beautiful memories, we hold them close to our hearts everyday and always will untill we meet again.
Love, hugs and kisses from Mummy, Ashley Leo and Max. Rest in peace my beautiful boy

Lottie
Our darling Lottie was so special. We loved her and she was so loyal and loving in return. Lottie had such a beautiful nature and was quite a chatterbox always meowing to say hello. She often put her paw out to you if she wanted more attention and although she had plenty of toys to play with her favourite thing to chase would be a bottle top!
Sadly at 14 years of age Lottie became ill and passed away on 24th August 2021, less than a year after her sister Zippy’s passing.
Rest in peace dear Lottie. We are heartbroken but will treasure our memories with such wonderful friends.

Barney
Barney has been a member of our family the past 15,5 years. He was an amazing dog; always by our side and very protective. He truly loved us, his garden, our holidays and his walks. Barney was such a character; very mischievous at times. He brought a lot of laughter into our house. He has been blessed with his health and was able to enjoy a full-filled life. Sadly a few months ago his back legs started to give way and he got all of sudden very ill. Utterly heartbroken we had to say our good-byes to him on the 19th January 2021.
We miss him dearly and he left a big empty space ever since but we will carry him in our hearts forever.
Xxxxxx Rest in peace Barney; you have been such a good boy xxxxxxx

Fluffy

Zippy
Zippy our darling cat came from Heavens Gate with her sister when she was 3 months old. Zippy sadly passed suddenly on 8thSeptember 2020, aged 13.
Zippy was a beautiful cat, she knew everything we said to her. She loved to sit on laps and had a lovely purr. She loved sitting on the bench in the garden enjoying the sunshine and meowing when she wanted a fuss.
Zippy you will be forever in our hearts, Rest in Peace Sweetheart.

Mr Beanz
Our dearest kitty Mr Beanz (Beanie) has gone to join his best friend Barclay in heaven. Barclay our shihtzu who departed this life 4 years ago in Seville- Spain. Mr Beanz stayed in Barclays bed for 2 weeks, mourning the loss of his pal. Theo our son can’t remember life without Mr Beanz as a part of it, but Beanz waited for Theo to start college, said his goodbyes and then gently fell asleep. Love you to the stars and back our cutest chocolate point Siamese kitty. You will be greatly missed.

Rouse
Roussa, our beloved black labrador, died on 18th January 2019 aged 14. She was the most gentle, caring and affectionate doggie. She loved spending time with us, running in the park and swimming in the river and sea. We feel very lucky to have had her in our lives. Although she never barked, the house now feels very quiet without her. She was a much loved member of the family and we will miss her hugely. We would like to thank Julian and his team for looking after Roussa so well.

Simba
Simba arrived at Heavens Gate in April 2013 with his brother Leo. I immediately noticed what a striking pair of boys they were. Simba was the smaller bossier one who always needed to be within sight of us, but was not really keen on cuddles. Unfortunately, he suffered from a sudden blood clot that was severe. We miss Simba keeping a look out for us all at home. Julian

Shadow
Shadow was such a loving cat. He came to us from Heavens Gate when he was five years old. I remember he stepped onto my lap when we first met and pretty much stayed there ever since! He loved company and a stroll around the local fields and lived a happy life with us right until he reached his natural end to life. Though he needed a little help in the end, the care that the whole team at Langport Vets gave him throughout his life, and their kind and sensitive help at the end, will always be appreciated and will never be forgotten. It was as if he was one of their own. Caroline.

Poppy
Poppy was one of the most loving and gentle cats that I have ever met. She was very much the wise one of our four cats. Poppy had lived with my wife and her daughter for 16 years after my wife had saved her from what might have been a very different story of her life.
I myself knew Poppy for 11 years after she had welcomed me into her family. She was one of those Cats who knew when you needed some love and would snuggle up to you and purr until you were calm again and she had the softest fur and touch you could ever want.
The things she loved the most were sitting in the sun, on your lap and tickles under the chin and she was not adverse to being picked up and cuddled. She did like to chase the red dot too and sometimes even try and play with the birds that flew across the TV screen.
It’s true that she had the odd disagreement with our other cats, being a tortoiseshell, and was not sure when we had new additions to our furbaby family. But she always had that quiet air of mother of the family. I truly believe Poppy had the closet energy to that of my own mother.
When it was time for us to help her cross the Rainbow Bridge, we all knew it was the right time and Poppy had the best send off getting treats of Cheese and Chicken and plenty of cuddles in the sun. Before she left to run free with our other cats who ran before her, Pinky, Chesney and Gracie.
We would dearly love to thank Dr Cosser and the Staff who were at Street Vets and helped us that day and thank you for the card you sent us. We are so grateful for your kindness, you all have our deepest gratitude.
Last but, not least to Poppy.

Taz
You came into our lives as a tiny bundle of fluff. You were forever by our sides. Wherever we went you came. We had so much fun together. You were nuts, and , at times a proper pain in the butt. Everyone loved you though… . But then time took its course !! You’re sight began to fade. Your bones got worn…You became an old man on the outside… But … inside , you were still that ball of fluff that wanted to bound around, bark and go crazy. This is what the kind vet told us we had to let you go. They took you away and peacefully sent you over the Rainbow Bridge. Our hearts broke that day . We miss you so very much.
RIP Tasmanian Devil. June 2018
Love you little man xxx

Jazzie
To our dear little JR Jazzie, we always loved
you so dearly & always will.

Frank
This is Frank, and when he became seriously ill unwell, he was lucky enough to be a patient of Langport vets clinic in Street.Whilst in their care he was looked after in an amazing manner.Kind words and thoughtful gentleness on each and every visit-both for Frank and his very worried Mum and Dad.Frank loved life,he was loved by everybody, humans and dogs alike!Never a menacing growl and he always tried to be compliant to our requests.A people’s dog, very sweet natured and always laid back!
He will be forever missed, but nine years of happy memories will keep us going.

Sid
My best friend , and loyal loving companion. You made my house our house and a home. Your presence is so missed by us all and we will treasure the memories of the 16 years we were so lucky to share with you. Thank you to all the staff at Street over the years , and to the staff at Langport who were so kind and caring for Sids last moments.

Poppy
Poppy, our beloved Norjack, was a member of our family for over 16 years. She was the most special girl – always locking eyes with you across the room, always sensing whenever someone needed a cuddle, always getting so excited before our walks that she’d get what we’d call the ‘zoomies’, where she’d race up and down the hallway. Although small, her presence was certainly not – with the heart of a lion. She could sense if one of us was about to come home before the car would even pull into the driveway, and she’d jump up and down at the door, her head bobbing up and down at the window. Some of her favourite things were sunbathing, roast chicken, head massages, walks up Windmill Hill, baths, scratches from Will, visiting Grandma’s, and ‘morning cuddles’. We still hear her dainty paws plodding around the floorboards and her scratching at the door.
Goodbye Pops, our fluffy bundle of optimism. Thank you for being our best friend, and most loyal companion, through the ups and the downs. We will never go a day without thinking about you. Rest in peace my angel. You were bigger than the whole sky.
A huge thank you to Julian and Molly at Langport Vets, your kindness will not be forgotten. We couldn’t have wished for a better goodbye with our Poppy. Xxx

Cass
Cass was a 4 year old labrador that we adopted from the Labrador Rescue Trust. She was a lovely dog, affectionate, welcoming and friends with every human she met. Her tail was always wagging and her eyes gleaming. Of course, she was always ready for some food or the occasional snack! Her health declined over the last year and sadly we had to let her go. She lived till she was 12, not a bad age for her breed. Thanks to all at Langport Vets for their attention over the years and their kindness during her final journey.

Peppi
In Loving Memory of Peppi
Peppi was more than a dog, she was my soul companion, by my side for fifteen and a half wonderful years. Her love was unconditional, her loyalty unshakable. Through every moment, especially when I was unwell, she stayed close, never taking her eyes off me.
She was a loving family dog at heart, always trying to round us all up, truly a labradoodle in sheepdog’s clothing. Peppi also brought with her a lot of fun with a cheeky and naughty side, a bit of a stubborn streak, and selective hearing when it suited her, all of which only made us love her even more.
The hole she leaves behind is immeasurable, but so is the love and joy she gave us. I will miss her forever.

Winnie
Memories of Winnie
August 2010 to 12th July 2025
Today was a very sad day as Mark and I said final goodbyes to possibly the sweetest natured and kindest dog I have ever owned . Dear Winnie .
Winnie was known as Maisie when we adopted her in December 2010. She was somewhat foisted upon me when I was working at Exeter RSPCA because this little dog was completely nuts!!!! She had had two homes before being given up to the shelter all in the space of 14 weeks .They said to me Who on earth will give her what she needs? You have to take her .
Scrawny wild eyed bitey and stressed out of her head I brought her home where she promptly jumped onto the dining table and sent my lap top flying . I owned a shop at the time and I can remember bringing her in the first day and she was like a whirling dervish . Georgie Meaden said ‘Oh My God what have you done Penny ?’
Winnie had Pica . A behavioural problem which meant she ate everything she could get in her mouth. Plastic metal cloth pooh bags —you name it Winnie ate it ! So the first job was to get her to bring everything she found to me instead of eating it . This meant throughout her entire life if Winnie found any object lying about I used to have to tell her how clever she was and she would fetch the peg/biro/kids toy etc to me .It also meant she had a fantastic rock solid retrieve.
She was wild off lead and struggled to concentrate in her training. I did leave one training session with Helen Philips and Leanne in tears because I just didnt know what to do with her .
Gradually the bond began to form and bit by bit she settled into her gundog training and life at work and home with us.
She worked on a shoot where initially she was fabulous but following a heavy shooting day with duck Winnie just boiled over and at that point I realized she just could not regulate her emotions enough to continue to work in the shooting field. So we did Grade 2 Gundog grade and she began her work as a stooge dog with me .Incredibly it was amazing that such an emotional dog could make such aa awesome stooge dog. Her patience with nervous reactive dogs was incredible . She read all dogs accurately . She knew when to approach when to withdraw and what signals she needed to send to calm any situation . It was always an anathema to me that my crazy zany nutcase could be so brilliant with other dogs. She was also trusting enough to work with Chris and then Alison on the end of her lead whilst I remained with the client .
She became incredibly reliable on walks as long as there were no water fowl about in which case she would hurl herself into the water yelling like a banshee with me helplessly blowing on the whistle to no avail.
Winnie came on various holidays. To Scotland Wales Cornwall . She was easy to take away settling well wherever . She baby sat many fostered and rescued lost souls allowing any visiting dogs access to her home with never a bad word . Cedric puppy was welcomed with her usual slight indifference and tolerance.
Grand children arrived and we had to be careful she didnt flatten them . She greeted most human visitors like old friends with great enthusiasm and bounce. As arthritis caught up with her the bounce went but the sentiment was the same .
Winnie just loved life to the full. She spent her last few weeks still wanting to pick up a canvas dummy and deliver it neatly to hand . Only yesterday she was swimming in the river fetching me a tennis ball doing what she loved best.
Winnie survived a scare with an abscess which affected her vagus nerve . That was touch and go down at Cave vets but she pulled through. More recently she was very poorly and underwent an op to investigate to see if her gut was blocked with a foreign object. The shadow seen by the vet was actually a large mass on her spleen so we knew her time was limited .That was over a year ago. She had periods of feeling very sore but periods when she still seemed perfectly happy with life .
At very nearly 15 Winnie had just worn out. She hadnt eaten properly for a week. She was unstable on her legs . This morning I just knew. She couldn’t settle she was stressed . I knew we had to do the last kind thing for her.
She leaves a huge legacy. There will never be another Winnie for me . She was tough resilient beautiful kind immensely loyal and brave to the last. No one could ask for more from a dog.
Run free sweet girl and give my regards to Dougie Ronnie and all my dogs who are there with you
.

Elba Wood
